• Fluff underpads: Have no polymer (the stuff that soaks up spills, just fluff and a plastic backing. Basically you get a lot more for your money, but sacrifice absorbency. Don't let the manufacturer saying "super absorbency" confuse you, these are still not as absorbent as underpads with polymer.
• Fluff/Polymer: With these you get additional absorbency from the same size as the fluff underpads. These use the same material you find in diapers to aid in the absorbency without being extra bulky.
• Breathable/Air permeable underpads: Allow air to circulate through the pads preventing skin breakdown.
• Bed Size underpads: These have extra long sides to allow them to tuck under the bed or at least cover the full bed length.
• Washable underpads: These are washable and reusable for extended life without the need to constantly dispose of used product.
